Alaskaesk!
Schiff Ahoi!

"Juneau is the most beautiful city in the world", the locals say, "at good weather," then they laugh. The statistics never lie. We know it by now. 200 days of rain a year, we just had to get wet. We now have at least decided to no longer talk about the weather, it's like it is. Mostly bad!
Now to the good side. With great surprise we opened our tent in the morning (we arrived at night) and saw a beautiful lake, turquoise colored, a glacier calve into the lake and to complete the kitschy scene there flew a bald eagle across the lake. Alaskaesk!
And we have found, or actually more washed, gold. There is not much, but after the first little snowflake Lea fell into a gold fever! But just in no hurry, panning for gold is less profitable than collecting returnable bottles!
Anyway, this place will certainly stay longer in our memory. We had many pleasant encounters with people and enjoyed a solidarity that we had not anticipated. Especially Kevin our fortune chevalier of the Alaska Highway and the nice evening with his family.
We are already eagerly anticipating Ronja's first birthday. A candle, soap bubbles and a small (light) gift we already got, now only missing is the chocolate muffin. We are certainly celebrating on a boat!
Ship ahoy!
